AD CAMPAIGN: BOTTEGA VENETA AUTUMN/WINTER 2012/13 BY ERWIN OLAF

Posted on September 3, 2012

Ameyline Valade and Simon Van Meervenne gaze a bit too intensely at their bare monochrome walled apartment for the Erwin Olaf lensed Autumn/Winter 2012 Bottega Veneta campaign.

According to director creative director Thomas Maier. the campaign shot in Amsterdam back in march offers, “a point of view that is at once formal and psychological, so surface and meaning have a complex relationship”. Unfortunately this a very awkward and empty campaign, which I really want to like but just can’t primarily due to the tired out “colour against grey” composition and wooden execution.

Check it out.

It’s a real shame because while I do like many of the pieces of their fall collection (individually at least), I think the styling here just doesn’t work, especially with the severity of Ameyline’s attitude.
