AD CAMPAIGN: CHRISTIAN DIOR SPRING/SUMMER 2013 BY WILLY VANDERPERRE
Posted on January 7, 2013
Vacant, cold and soulless are three words that come to mind when I look at the new Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2013 campaign. Gone is eccentricity and theatre of the Galliano era, and in it’s place we have Raf Simons’ “minimal” bleached aesthetic. The collection I was a fan of, this campaign however is a different story.
Check it out.
It’s not necessarily a bad, it’s just very different. what bothers me the most is how cut and paste everything looks. The huge spaces of white, the distanced models and the
recycled Jil Sander A/W 12 flowers combined, look more like a quickly photoshopped interior design visual rather than ad campaign, while Willy Vanderperre’s intimate style seems lost within Raf’s uncluttered and rather flat Dior vision.
