AD CAMPAIGN: DIOR HOMME AUTUMN/WINTER 2012/13 “SHADOW” BY WILLY VANDERPERRE
Posted on August 30, 2012
I’m still trying to figure out, (frustratingly), why there are two Dior Homme advertising campaigns. The first one shot by Karl Lagerfeld I posted here…
The latest campaign, lensed by Willy Vanderperre and aptly named “Shadow”, stars models Janis Ancens and Victor Nylande wandering through the eerily deserted Financial District in New York at night, while dressed in the military influenced autumn/winter collection.
Check out the cinematic images and the accompanying film here.
Just like the Elie Saab campaign I posted earlier, the perspective and lighting, (which Vanderperre utilises frequently in his work), add a wonderful dramatic feel to the images which is then accentuated by the formality of the collection.
The accompanying short film furthers the cinematic direction of the campaign, (which seems to be another winter advertising trend this season), as both Janis and Victor wander through the financial district and embrace an unseen force that hides within the cold NYC wind, protected only by their fall garments.
