I’m a firm believer that an Advertising Campaign should not only sell the brand’s aesthetic and the current collection, but also be a window into a world that you can only dream of being a part of. Sure enough, Lanvin’s Spring/Summer 2013 campaign lensed by Steven Meisel does all of that and more.

Daria Strokous, Karlie Kloss and Saskia de Brauw exude both glamour and sophistication in an eye catching cinematic campaign that plays on perspective and depth within a dream-like Californian midnight garden. The lighting, reminiscent of pale moonlight, the barely there make-up, and the anxious yet somewhat alluring gazes into the distance add a sense of mystery and magic to the entire story, while the garments and accessories do what anything from Lanvin does…Seduce.

The Men’s campaign starring models, Christian Garcia, Kristoffer Hasslevall, Michael Lange, conveys a slightly different mood. While everything from the set, lighting and composition (slightly repetitive of course, but it works) remains largely the same, the models here play play on their cool masculinity, devoid of any emotion like mannequins, but while serving as perfect platform for the gorgeous Spring/Summer 2013 collection, (even if slightly “Children of the Corn” in places). The fact that everything is so smooth, unblemished and unreal, only makes me crave that world more!
