AD CAMPAIGN: PRADA SPRING/SUMMER 2013 BY STEVEN MEISEL
Posted on February 16, 2013
Photographer Steven Meisel captures the 10 blooming beauties, Vanessa Axente, Saskia de Brauw, Irina Kravchenko, Eva Herzigova, Sung Hee, Irene Hiemstra, Kirsten Owen, Sasha Pivovarova, Maartje Verhoef and Raquel Zimmermann in a clean cut, simple but striking campaign that let’s the gorgeous feminine and fierce floral themed collection do all the talking.
That’s not to say these women don’t express they’re own individuality, far from it. Miuccia Prada has in fact highlighted each distinct and destructive personality with the accompanying campaign film.
Check it out.
Miuccia Prada has executed the perfect campaign this season… and those socks have even won me over! The clean, look book styled shots juxtaposed with detailed close ups of the signature floral motifs can easily be identified with the brand from miles away. I love how uncomplicated this is, and that’s evidently the Japanese theme (which seems to be a trend in ad campaigns this season), from the collection being translated into the composition and direction.
With such a strong, detailed and feminine collection worn by an army of equally strong supermodels, there was no need for anything more. It wouldn’t be Prada otherwise.
