I’ll be honest, I’ve never really followed Belfast…so I didn’t realise what I was missing out on until I set my eyes on this wonderful collection.

Check out the images from the Belstaff Spring/Summer 2013 menswear catwalk at Milan Fashion Week with some of my key notes on colours and influences below.

A sharp, tailored traveller with an almost biker/military look was the main influence here but softened with sandals. The humid colour palette of tan, rust, khaki, cream , tobacco and ochre was cooled with white, icy blues, navy and steel. The primary influence was on the beautiful belted outerwear, most of which carried a running theme of contrasts, from sleeves on beautiful leather bikers to the lapels on trenches, with a special mentioned to the snakeskin print jacket and the cool blue trench! The silhouette was slim, with fitted trousers adorned with prints, ribbed and patterned knitwear, and jackets either being cropped at the waist or as mentioned previously, belted to accentuate this. And while up top, the models wrapped up as if embracing the elements, the summer strappy sandal told another story of warmer climates. Head designer Martin Cooper has found the perfect balance of being on trend but remaining timeless with pieces that will last you well into the autumn/winter season and beyond.

I need the biker jackets and the trench in the header image in my life. It will complete me! *Prays*
