You would be forgiven for thinking that this was an A/W 2013 collection, I know at first glance I did.  However rather than following the summer trend of candy colours, whimsical prints and saturated palettes, Burberry Prorsum’s resort collection focuses more on classic and timeless staples as oppose to statement.

Bomber jackets, the parka, chunky knitwear, the defining trench, skirts and dotted prints all appear in a wonderful earthy palette of colours, comprising of dusky nudes, burgundy, burnt oranges, khaki, tans and creams. Showstoppers include a wonderful gold lamé trench, metallic dresses and the beautiful floor length evening gowns.

Christopher Bailey has certainly thought about his customer and our current economic climate. Even with the small injections of youthful “newness”, these chic pieces will take you right into autumn/winter without losing any of their appeal. This collection is not just for christmas  SS12, it’s for life!
