COVER: FORD BOONYASIT BY SURASAK ITTIRIT, NUMÉRO HOMME THAILAND NO.1, MARCH 2013

Numéro Hommes Thailand launches it’s first issue on the 27th February with shot of the aggressive, green haired sentinel, Ford Boonyasit, in a barren land, and while I am all “Yay” for the launch of another men’s magazine, I’m still a bit “eek” over the photoshopping of the Surasak Ittirit lensed image.

COVER: NATHALIE DUCHEINE BY PUISIRI SIRIVECHAPUN, NUMÉRO THAILAND #3, FEBURARY 2013

Another gorgeous cover from Numéro comes courtesy of photographer Punsiri Sirivechapun, who captures an ethereal looking Nathalie Ducheine for their February issue for Thailand.

The petal-like, translucency of her flowing sleeves, the stark contrast in lighting, and the unusual floral motifs upon her lips are simply a beautiful and elegant combination for a spring cover, while the darkened peach background adds a wonderful vintage warmth to the image.

COVER: LANA DEL REY BY MARIANO VIVANCO, NUMÉRO TOKYO #64, MARCH 2013

It’s another hit for Lana Del Rey who plays a seductive Snow White on the Mariano Vivanco lensed cover for Numéro Tokyo #64.

With her hair as black as ebony and skin as white as snow, the singer strikes a “Lolita-like” pose clutching a glossy red apple with her talon-like hands, while wearing an innocent looking perforated white blouse and a red bow in her hair amidst a dreamy pink hued sunset.

Love both the composition and styling, as well as the fact they chose not to go for the predictable red lips!

COVER: JULIA NOBIS BY ANTHONY MAULE, NUMÉRO #139, DECEMBER 2012/JANUARY 2013

A sullen looking Julia Nobis covers Numéro #139 for their wonderfully eerie looking December 2012/January 2013 “Nuit” issue.

The seriously smoky eyes, her wide brimmed hat and the dark bejewelled Saint Laurent ensemble make this Anthony Maule photographed cover a beautifully bewitching sight!

Unfortunately the accompanying editorial, the styling of which I adore, depicts Julia as a one trick pony, with her aforementioned gloomy expression being repeated in every single shot.

Check it out here.

COVER: CATHERINE MCNEIL BY JEAN BAPTISTE MODINO, NUMÉRO #137, OCTOBER 2012

Check out Catherine McNeil in all her CGI looking glory as she covers Numéro #137.

The model, who looks as if she would sit perfectly into Square-Enix’s role playing game Final Fantasy Type-0, (largely due to Jean Baptiste Modino’s retouching skills), goes for the androgynous with a fitted sequin embellished blazer, crisp white shirt, black tie, and piercing glare, and boy does she pull it off well!

Bill Mullen’s wonderful styling is finished off perfectly with an unruly parted mane courtesy of  Teddy Charles. Totally besotted with the cover, even if it is because she looks like a character from my favourite role-playing franchise ever!

COVER: ARTHUR GOSSE BY MATTHEW BROOKES, NUMÉRO HOMME #24, FALL/WINTER 2012

Clearly I’m having a de-saturated day today…

This sharp and rather futuristic cover of Numéro Homme #24 by photographer Matthew Brookes, sees model Arthur Gosse don a pair of Alexander McQueen visors that reflect the modern metropolis before him. The combination of a roll neck underneath a crisp buttoned white shirt and the geometry of power cables behind him only further enforces the underlying theme futurism theme,  and my love for it.

Sadly the accompanying editorial isn’t as exciting, so I decided not to post it.

COVER: CANDICE SWANEPOEL BY ALEXI LUBONMIRSKI, NUMÉRO TOKYO #59, SEPTEMBER 2012

I meant to post this a while back and found it waiting as a draft post.

Candice Swanepoel takes on the role of the gucci wearing, “Femme Fatale Barbie” on the cover of September’s Numero Tokyo. I say Barbie because as beautiful as she is, there’s no denying that she has been retouched within an inch of her life!

SIMON VAN MEERVENNE & SIMON NESSMAN BY TIZIANO MAGNI, NUMÉRO HOMME, AUTUMN 2012

Amongst the rolling storm clouds, a dark Simon Van Meervenne and his hypnotic glare take centre stage for Numéro Homme’s Autumn 2012 issue.

With a huge “YAY!” from me, the model, whose styling channels “Interview with The Vampire”, takes on the popular gothic/baroque womenswear trend in an ornate Dolce & Gabbana coat and high collared shirt and red tinged lips.

I’m all for translating womenswear trends into men’s so this get a huge thumbs up for me, I know I shall be doing the same this season!

Check out the alternative cover with Simon Nessman also lensed by photography Tiziano Magni here.
