COSTUME NATIONAL MEN’S SPRING/SUMMER 2013 – MILAN FASHION WEEK

Check out the images from the Costume National Spring/Summer 2013 menswear catwalk at Milan Fashion Week with some of my key notes on colours and influences below.
A relaxed, light, “new wave safari” look and Ennio Capasa’s concept based around David Bowie and his record “African Light Flight” were the main influences here, and the colour palette of layered whites and beiges conveyed this by eventually changing into stricter, tailored greys and blacks with odd accent of cobalt blue and of course wide stripes. The primary focus was on the combined use of leather with silk and cotton elements, eyelet details on jackets, relaxed fit trousers and shorts, ethnic/urban printed tops and the initial feather-like lightness of the fabrics as models cascaded down the runway eventually yielding to the dark punk-like influence that followed.
