With the concluding film to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn Part II, set to make it’s premiere in November admist a heap of controversy surrounding her romantic life, Kristen Stewart takes centre stage as Vogue UK’s october cover star.

The Mario Testino lensed cover sees the actress wear a beautiful blue/green floral print silk Gucci gown, while sporting an ode to her creature of the night role with blood red lips, pale skin and side-swept locks that are a tad on the wild side.

And while many will be quick to criticise her uncomfortable composure once again, I believe it actually works in the context of the dark romantic/gothic nature of the cover. The blank stare, the pale face and lifeless pose work to her advantage and portray the loss of Robert Pattinson as the greatest thing she ever had autumn/winter trend well.

I for one wouldn’t have gone with the pink text here, it seems much too “teen” for a cover that is clearly styled for the adult market. A Black grey or a green masthead and titles to match the Gucci print would have been better in my opinion.

Sadly the preview from the Testino lensed shoot is pretty bad in terms of styling and Kristen’s awkward attitude doesn’t really help it. Hopefully the full editorial will fare much better.
