COVER: LADY GAGA BY MERT ALAS & MARCUS PIGGOT, VOGUE US, SEPTEMBER 2012

After a series of tweets, Lady Gaga leaked her Vogue US cover for the magazine’s September issue, lensed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
The statuesque “Bad Romance” singer dons an extremely figure hugging fuchsia coloured Marc Jacobs
sweet wrapper mermaid gown all topped off by a platinum blonde fur-ball inspired mane. The cover, (which has grown on me), will be the fashion magazine’s biggest issue with a staggering 916 pages! And whilst I appreciate the so called “risk” Anna Wintour has taken here, that vile red “anniversary” banner let’s it down tremendously.
Check out an image from the accompanying editorial below, which in my opinion would have made a far better cover.
As seen in the beautiful image above, the singer’s appearance recently has become much more refined and natural than the usual meat wearing, egg hatching Gaga we’re used to seeing – and oh does she suits the stripped back simple look! Is Miss “Gaga Oo La La” taking on a new direction in terms of style to coincide with the announcement of her new ARTPOP album? We shall wait and see! In the meantime it’s pretty obvious that being the biggest issue of Vogue, King Anna Wintour needs to pull in the sales figures to match, and who better to cash in on then Gaga and her “monstrous” fan-base. Not much of a risk then really is it? Ching Ching!
