DRIES VAN NOTEN MEN’S SPRING/SUMMER 2013 – PARIS FASHION WEEK
Posted on July 14, 2012
Check out the images from the Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2013 menswear catwalk at Paris Fashion Week with some of my key notes on colours and influences below.
A camouflage influence again but broken up well enough with the right colours and sporty cuts to not seem as tired as previous efforts from other labels that shared a similar influence. A colour palette of grey, navy, bronze, taupe and prints in khaki, camel and tan were given new life with a sprightly inclusion of orange, marigold, coral and cobalt blue and further accentuated by the use of shiny, exotic shantung silks. The primary focus was on fluidity of the styling, the strips of camp across shirts, loose trousers, quilted shirts with velcro fastened panels, roomy blazers, open weave patterned knitwear and beautiful colour blocking. Special mention to the thick soled sandals with electric blue details and the ultra feminine nude lace top which even I will have to give a miss.
