There are two things I found when I saw this collection. 1) The colour combinations are once again to die for and 2) I need a pair of Gucci loafers to complete my life.

Check out the images from the Gucci Spring/Summer 2013 menswear catwalk at Milan Fashion Week with some of my key notes on colours and influences below.

Bright, lively and a chic Mediterranean retreat away in the sun was the main influence here as Gucci steered completely away from the darkness of their fall collection and into the resplendence of summer 2013. The vibrant colour palette, (said to be inspired by a vintage baiadera-striped Gucci bag made in a unique colour combination), of sunflower yellow, raspberry, orange, lime, golfing green, cobalt blue and pillar box red  were even found in the details and accents when the collection drew to a close in white and black. The primary focus here was on sartorial style for any moment, whether it be double breasted blazers or knitwear. Skinny trousers drew your eyes towards the multi-coloured and multi-material,”I need these in my life”, Gucci loafers (which celebrate their 60th anniversary in 2013), floral patterns on shirts, inner linings and trousers, pinstriped suits and ties accessorised by luxurious silk neck scarves and exquisite, beach worthy multi striped canvas hold-alls. What more could you ask for for from a spring/summer collection?…oh wait a Watermelon Martini…Ah! Perfetto!
