J. MENDEL WOMEN’S SPRING SUMMER 2013 – NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Loved how beautiful & luxe everything looks here!
Check out the images from the J. Mendel Spring/Summer 2013 womenswear show at New York Fashion Week, with some of my key notes on colours and influences below.
Inspired by images of the beautiful Kawachi Fuji garden in Japan, J. Mendel’s latest collection was unashamedly romantic and feminine but modern in construction. The colour palette comprised of nude, olive, jade, laurel violet, silver-grey, ivory and orange while the primary focus was on the luxe fabrication of dresses, with pleats, fur and leather trims, organza floral embellishments on plunging, floating gowns, a boxy tunic sweater with extremely short shorts made from mink, leather skirts with thigh high splits, floral jacquards, stunning silk printed suits, and models sporting simple, nude faces but with just a flush of peach on the cheeks.
