KENZO AUTUMN/WINTER 2012/13 AD CAMPAIGN BY JEAN-PAUL GOUDE

Opposites definitely do attract in Kenzo’s new autumn/winter 2012 Jean-Paul Goude lensed campaign.

The new advertising campaign features models Xiao Wen and Simon Sabbah, both wearing leather trousers, embroidered knitwear and being superimposed to form an “X” shape amongst a neon lit “KENZO” sign. Cleverly, the image is able to work for both men’s and women’s magazines, depending on how you reverse it, something practical and off course a nod to the unisex nature of the brand.

Creative Directors, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, believed Goude had the best insight into the era when Kenzo Takada first arrived in Paris and was the ideal choice to shoot the collection, which was influenced by the spirit of his Jungle Jap store in the Seventies.

The campaign will launch in July in L’Uomo Vogue and then globally in September in titles including Vogue Paris, Vogue U.S., Vogue Hommes International, GQ, Love and more.
