LANA DEL REY PREMIERES “BLUE VELVET” VIDEO FOR H&M

Check out the haunting and nostalgic visual for Lana Del Rey’s new single “Blue Velvet”, which also serves as H&M’s new television advertising campaign this autumn/winter.
The subdued coloured commercial sees the beautiful Born To Die singer mime into a vintage microphone on a small stage, with memories engulfing her every word, only to be embarrassingly” unplugged” but a dwarf. It’s typically Lana in that it’s drenched in melancholy and heartbreak from a bygone era, but beautifully done nonetheless.
The song was penned by Bernie Wayne and Lee Morris in 1950 for Tony Bennett, however most would be familiar with Bobby Vinton’s version from the film “Blue Velvet” by David Lynch, which this Johan Renck directed video is clearly a homage to.
