I know I’m quite critical of my fave, Mariah Carey but there’s one thing that she always does that makes my jaw literally drop to floor when she begins – ad-libbing!

Playing on her “Diva” reputation in the most light hearted way, the Queen entertained a crowd of 5000 at the Jupiters Hotel & Casino on the Gold Coast in Australia, (much to their pleasure), as a slew of technical failures threatened her first concert in the country for nearly 15 years.

Check out the hilarious and amazing vocal stylings of Ol’Mimi here.

Brilliant! I’m more than certain she has taken up some kind of vocal training recently because her voice is sounding much more fluid and more fuller than ever, (despite the odd strain here and there!). Plus there’s no pressure to hit “that note” when she’s making up lyrics and melodies for fun – It’s almost like a vocal warmup cum standup routine!

As for the concert, overall she sounded great, but not as good as her 2012 shows. The major let down was the the short and tired set list – Has she seriously sent Vision of Love to the retirement home!? Let’s hope the other two concerts fair better, but other than that Mariah was on fire!
