SAY IT WITH FLOWERS: TEN FLORAL TEES FOR MEN
Posted on May 5, 2012
While ‘window shopping’ on the web, the abundance of floral tees available for men this year has caught my eye. Available both on the high street and through high end designers, here are my ten 2012 favourites that won’t impair your manhood & dare I say it, even make you slightly trendy!
Beautiful print, and even better it’s all over the tee rather than just being placed on the front. What makes this work so well is the washed/vintage look which means although you may be making a statement wearing it, it will be a subtle yet trendy one.
Zara’s watercolour/sketch style roses on their ‘Flower Tee’ look perfect as styled, with pastel coloured shorts/chinos.
A beautiful all over rose print with a darker almost more gothic take on summer. It only seems fitting that it should be worn accordingly…Burgundy jeans, black boots, you get the picture.
Don’t be alarmed! This tee once again utilises that water coloured/washed out look along with a print that has a limited colour palette of teal, coral and cream. I’d say don’t over style and keep it simple. A neutral coloured pair of chinos & plimsolls will ensure you look chic rather than Hawaiian shirt cheap.
If you want to be the centre of attention & relive the glory of Givenchy’s Spring 2012 show by catwalking down the high street then buy this tee, just don’t look at the price tag! The bold print, the psychedelic greens & purples against the cream give it a totally luxurious look. It’s my personal fav & its screaming to have the sleeves rolled up and be worn with a leather biker jacket! If anyone would like to buy this for me, I’m a size S and will love you forever!
I’m not the world’s greatest fan of grey marl (especially in the heat), but this Marni tee wins me over. I absolutely love the huge outline vector-like graphic and would look great blocked with brightly coloured jeans. Just don’t wear with patterned shorts/trousers/chinos/denim below the waist, keep it plain and bright.
It’s no secret how much I adore All Saints primarily because everything I buy goes with practically everything I own & this relaxed fit tee is no exception.
I caught this little gem on ASOS the other dad, If the all over prints are still too much for you, how about a little pocket detail?
Christopher has designed a number of floral print tees exclusively for Oki-ni, the beautiful muted pinks & greys with this bold print make it perfect to wear all summer and even throughout autumn/winter.
