*Sings* “Santa won’t you please, bring the one I really need, won’t you please bring a Macbook to Meeeeeeeeeee!!!”
I NEVER EVER regret spending a small fortune on my beloved iMac. It has been one of the best investments I’ve ever made, especially when it comes to my own design business. The resolution, the speed, the overall slickness has made working on projects for clients such as LeiVanKash Jewellery, Red Carpet Fashion Awards, Nokia and even this blog, both easier and satisying.
But there’s one tiny thing I knew I would have trouble with – Portability. I have family and friends scattered all over the place that I always visit, moreso with the events I’ve had to put up with this year. Unfortunately I’ve had to cut short many trips, simply because I have to rush back home to design a graphic for a client that would only take me around an hour, or gone for days without updating the blog simply because I don’t have access to my design programs to create headers graphics and resize images.
So a 13 inch Apple Macbook Pro or Macbook Pro with Retina Display is something which I now need – but simply as a portable backup for my iMac (which I still adore in case it can read). Due to the fact i plan on using it as a backup item, the spec (while still impressive), need not be the highest hence why I’d pick the 13 inch over the 15 inch. The only downside to the new model is that it lacks a superdrive, while the older Macbook Pro model does have one and with a slightly smaller price tag. Then again how often do we use CD’s nowadays?
