ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS…IS…THIS VERSACE LEATHER SHOPPER TOTE!

Being the former spoilt only child that I am, I decided I would channel my frustration of not getting all the things I’ve wanted this year into an “All I Want For Christmas…is…” blog post, with the foolish hope that maybe I will get something from my wish list.

PIC O’THE DAY

A raven haired Kate Moss stands tall in a Givenchy Haute Couture cape for the Mario Testino lensed editorial in December’s Vogue Spain.

Aside from the stunning shot, I adore the weathered backdrop.

COVER: CARA DELEVIGNE BY SOFIA SANCHEZ & MAURO MONGIELLO, VOGUE KOREA, DECEMBER 2012

Vogue Korea does a much more solemn take on December as a red lipped Cara Delevingne innocently poses in Christian Dior Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2012 dress with just a single flower, wet locks and fearful gaze.

I for one adore the gloomy cover, lensed by Sofia Sanchez & Mauro Mongiello, along with the dark colours and composition. The british model may usual be full of life when in public but she really thrives when giving us such sombre yet innocent looks. It’s such a shame that the awful childish font sprawled across the bottom almost ruins it.

COVER: GRACE CODDINGTON BY ARTHUR ELGORT, ID MAGAZINE – THE WISE UP ISSUE, AUTUMN/WINTER 2012

The ever radiant red haired Grace Coddington covers i-D Magazine’s “The Wise Up Issue” in a striking cobalt blue Céline coat, off white shirt and an emerald eyed silver leopard brooch.

Photographed by Arthur Elgort, the “thoughtful” cover is pure brilliance! The contrast of colours alone is stunning, let alone having our favourite player from The September Issue giving us a wink.

According to i-D Online: “We’ll be releasing seven more covers over the coming days so be sure to fix your eyes on i-Donline.com and on Models.com from Monday for a glimpse of two more stunning covers. In this issue there’s a pearl of wisdom for everyone. Follow them wisely and the New Year’s guaranteed to be a good one.”

The Wise Up Issue hits stores on November 22nd 2012

COVER: MARION COTILLARD BY TIM WALKER, W MAGAZINE, DECEMBER 2012

Marion Cotillard adds some eerie drama to December as she cover’s W Magazine in a beautiful red Dior Haute Couture belted cashmere coat along with a Dior belt, ring and Atsuko Kudo gloves, while being groped by several hands from the wall behind her and working a severe black bob.

I absolutely love the Tim Walker lensed cover! And the accompanying editorial is just as great with the French actress wearing several designers including  Lanvin, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana, within a surreal, fantasy led, red hued “wonderland”.

Check out the “Red Hot” editorial here.

COVER: LINDA EVANGELISTA BY KARL LAGERFELD, VOGUE RUSSIA, DECEMBER 2012-

Woohoo! Another great December cover!

Karl Lagerfeld photographed the stunning Linda Evangelista in a radiating a halo of yellow Fendi fur, for December’s Vogue Russia.

Her icy blue eyes, red lips and flaw free pale skin are an absolutely killer combination, and there’s something old school Vogue about it which I adore!

THE DWELL CARDIGAN FROM ALL SAINTS

Granted, aside from the graphic tees, I haven’t exactly been over the moon with the new autumn/winter menswear collection from All Saints (the womenswear on the other hand, I think is much more interesting). But that doesn’t mean I haven’t come across some great pieces that soothe my heartache over their unique, draped, layered and raw edged archive styles pre 2011.

Take this beautiful chunky knit oatmeal coloured Dwell Cardigan, which is the best of both worlds – the original unconventional style, with a quirky metal hook and bar fastening, blended effortlessly with their new, albeit “commercial” stance. What’s even better about this particular item is that it’s thick and comfy enough to be used as an alternative to a winter coat.

Versatile, well made and cost effective! What more could you ask for this winter?

The Dwell Cardigan (available in Midnight and Oatmeal) – £110 from UK All Saints or $175 from US All Saints

COVER: EUGENIA VOLODINA, HARPER’S BAZAAR SPAIN, NOVEMBER 2012

Eugenia Volodina strikes a pose in Prada in a fantastical mirrored collaged for a rather November’s Harper’s Bazaar Spain.

The surrealist theme is further enforced by the Salvador Dali quote, “It’s easy to recognize if a man has good taste: the carpet must match with the eyebrows” hidden along the side of the cover, which makes me wonder what mind boggling delights Eugenia’s editorial will hold.

Check out a stunning preview here.

KHAKI IS KOOL!

As I’ve mentioned plenty of times before, I am a lover of all thing khaki, and more-so when it comes to outerwear. This wool blend Jeymer short trench coat from Reiss has my name all over it!

Even to this day, I’ve found that most guys shy away from khaki, and stick to the staple black/navy/tan winter coat. Their reason being that the colour is hard to match items from their daily wardrobe, when in fact, it’s extremely versatile. Greys, brown, tan, navy, red, burgundy, black, white, ivory, nude, purple, plum and pink *takes breath* all go so well with this muted green, while going tonal as Reiss have done above is also a brilliant way to go.

Here’s another suggestion that plays on the vintage vibe of the trench, isn’t too out there and will still have you looking effortlessly dapper!

PHOTOGRAPHY: CAREY MULLIGAN FOR ANOTHER MAGAZINE, BY CRAIG MCDEAN

Following on from her brilliant AnOther Magazine Cover , check out the perfectly executed editorial lensed by Craig McDean and styled by Olivier Rizzo. It certainly lived up to everything I expected it to be, with the above shot of the actress in Prada, looking as if she is sending ripples through the fabric of time itself, being one of my favourites!
