MY DOUBLE LAYER WHITE T-SHIRT FROM UNCONDITIONAL

I used to find there was a variety of womenswear, the shapes and cuts of which were deemed not “masculine” enough to be translated into menswear. That’s where I was lucky enough to come across UK brand Unconditional 2 years ago, and since then, I’ve come to both own and fall deeply in love with their signature drape, asymmetric cuts and “rock n’ roll” edge, which effortlessly blur that fine line between the genders, while retaining that all important air of masculinity.

The T1S Double Layer White T-Shirt I’m wearing above, I believe was from their Spring/Summer 2010 collection and is unfortunately now unavailable. However, there are plenty of great options on their website that will more than satisfy your drape and *whispers* “girls get all the good stuff” craving…

So while I plan to find a money tree so I can go and buy more of their product to photograph myself in, you can purchase both their present and past collections on the Unconditional website.

THE “WATERCOLOUR WOODLAND”

Over the past few weeks I’ve been working on a project which I like to call “that which cannot be named”, with fashionable jewellery brand LeiVanKash.

Now I’m still not going to reveal anything until I’m allowed to, but here’s something small I designed for fun using a variety of techniques and mediums I tend to use quite frequently, and that I have implemented for this soon to be revealed project.

And yes…This is what I do on my Saturday nights in the middle of nowhere while all you “young’uns” are living it up in the club…*weeps*

JLS TAKE PART IN THE WORST PHOTOSHOP JOB EVER!!!!!

What the hell did the photographer use to retouch these pictures!?! A potato!?

The shoot which was said to show off the “Olympian side” of the four members of british boy band JLS, instead exposes the flaws and clear lack of skill of the photographer who took the images. Check out the disastrous pics here.

AD CAMPAIGN: PINKO AUTUMN/WINTER 2012/13 STARRING NAOMI CAMPBELL (I THINK…)

Pinko’s Autumn/Winter campaign had the potential to be absolutely beautiful, (love the clothes/styling), if it wasn’t however for the over retouching to make Naomi almost unrecognisable. I understand that in this day and age EVERY photograph is retouched or photoshopped in someway, I do it for my shoots too, but when you have one of the world greatest and most recognised models fronting your campaign and she doesn’t even look like herself, you need an encrusted blackberry thrown at you.

Check out the Daniele Duella and Iango Henzi photographed campaign here.

PIC O’ THE DAY

Sometimes it’s raw imagery such as this shot by Josh Olins that catches your eye. Granted the retouching may look slightly patchy in places, but Malgosia timeless beauty shifts the focus from that photoshop faux pas completely.

COVER: DOUTZEN KROES BY SØLVE SUNDSBØ, VOGUE CHINA JUNE 2012

Oh dear, that same problem of ‘OD-ing’ on photoshop, still the David Hockney homage cover looks bright and summery, although you can definitely see from the over saturated flat background why you should keep the retouching to a minimum, or at least make it look consistent with your subject. Still it is the first swimsuit cover ever for Vogue China, so at least there is room for improvement.

Doutzen Kroes wear a swimsuit from the Chanel SS12 collection.

THE CURIOUSLY CREATIVE MAGGIE TAYLOR

If you’ve ever managed to sit through the first 5 minutes of the CBS series ‘Ghost Whisperer’, (after season 3 this became considerably harder), then you may have been lucky enough to catch the best thing about the show – the incredible opening credits. Two very common questions arise at this point. Firstly, ‘Who composed the theme song?’, well that would be the multi talented Mark Snow and secondly, ‘Which glorious otherworldly being has settled on this plane and used their divine gift to bring such incredible imagery into our tiny minds’. Well now that would be Maggie Taylor.
