THE TOPMAN DENIM SLEEVELESS JACKET – MY BARGAIN FLASH SALE PURCHASE!

Winter may have hit the UK (with torrential rain and gale force winds), but I, ladies and gentleman, am off to bake in 32 degrees of Indian sunshine for the week. So even though I may die from heatstroke while wearing this Denim Sleeveless Jacket from Topman in the heat, at least I’ll look HOT doing so, especially when riding on the back of my cousin’s motorcycle! (Yes that’s how we get around there!).

As above, I’m potentially looking at pairing this gem with my All Saints Archive Wintermoon Tee and grid print yellow Trucker cap. And in case you were wondering, this bargain beauty was a steal at only £40 £12!!!! Courtesy of the Topman Flash Sale.

MY DOUBLE LAYER WHITE T-SHIRT FROM UNCONDITIONAL

I used to find there was a variety of womenswear, the shapes and cuts of which were deemed not “masculine” enough to be translated into menswear. That’s where I was lucky enough to come across UK brand Unconditional 2 years ago, and since then, I’ve come to both own and fall deeply in love with their signature drape, asymmetric cuts and “rock n’ roll” edge, which effortlessly blur that fine line between the genders, while retaining that all important air of masculinity.

The T1S Double Layer White T-Shirt I’m wearing above, I believe was from their Spring/Summer 2010 collection and is unfortunately now unavailable. However, there are plenty of great options on their website that will more than satisfy your drape and *whispers* “girls get all the good stuff” craving…

So while I plan to find a money tree so I can go and buy more of their product to photograph myself in, you can purchase both their present and past collections on the Unconditional website.

#TODAYIMWEARING 13/10/2012 MUTED JEWEL MEETS FARROW & BALL

I adore this colour combination!

A muted palette of Jewel colours can instantly soften a loud “exotic” coloured looking outfit into something more subdued, wearable, and heritage in tone. As the title suggests, inspiration derived from the paint colours courtesy of Farrow & Ball provided a great way to balance the berry coloured chinos.

Light Tan sweatshirt – H&M
Berry Skinny Chinos – Topman
Aztec print socks – Topman
Elm suede Brogue Boots – All Saints
Vintage 1930’s Leather Teal Wallet

KHAKI IS KOOL!

As I’ve mentioned plenty of times before, I am a lover of all thing khaki, and more-so when it comes to outerwear. This wool blend Jeymer short trench coat from Reiss has my name all over it!

Even to this day, I’ve found that most guys shy away from khaki, and stick to the staple black/navy/tan winter coat. Their reason being that the colour is hard to match items from their daily wardrobe, when in fact, it’s extremely versatile. Greys, brown, tan, navy, red, burgundy, black, white, ivory, nude, purple, plum and pink *takes breath* all go so well with this muted green, while going tonal as Reiss have done above is also a brilliant way to go.

Here’s another suggestion that plays on the vintage vibe of the trench, isn’t too out there and will still have you looking effortlessly dapper!

AD CAMPAIGN: LANVIN AUTUMN/WINTER 2012/13 BY STEVEN MEISEL

If there’s one brand you can consistently rely on for great concepts and execution while retaining their core, it’s Lanvin.

Photographed by Steven Meisel, the theatrical new campaign sees an diverse age range of “ordinary” people rather than well known models, all styled beautifully and yet conventionally while set amongst a bazaar of quirky accessories and furniture to match Alber Elbaz’s tongue and cheek mood.

FLORA INSPIRATION FOR AUTUMN/WINTER 2012/13

I always find it slightly unfair how womenswear trends are never really translated into menswear. Take the dramatic reinterpretation of floral prints this autumn/winter. Bright and colourful yet sombre in mood…Oh how I would love a needlepoint Dolce & Gabanna men’s jumper!

Now although this trend may not to every red blooded males liking, how about taking two or three colours from floral themed sources of inspiration, such as the marigold photograph I took this morning, and incorporate that into your everyday styling? Even pairing the smallest of floral accessories with winter darks will for a more “optimistic” end to the year. Here’s a little something I would wear.
