THE WOVEN LEATHER BACKPACK FROM THE NEW TOPMAN LUX COLLECTION

I’ve mentioned before that I’ve never really been a fan of backpacks – The majority of my “man-bag” collection is derived of totes, messenger bags and holdalls much to dismay of my arms and right shoulder – But as Marc Jacobs did last year, high street brand Topman have made me rethink my decision to exile the two strapped carrier from my life with this stunning and affordable black Woven Leather Backpack from their new Lux Collection.

I’VE GOT THE “BALTIMORE BLUES”

I’ve noticed recently that my look is once again evolving. Now that’s either due to blogging, tweeting and following a horde of inspiring fashionistos, or it’s because being an unemployable vegetable rotting in the middle of nowhere has just made me lazier when it comes to making an effort to dress up (I don’t even straighten my hair to quiff it anymore). Either way, I’ve slowly begun to ditch the torso hugging tight tops and leather boots I wear with my skinnies, and replaced them with easy to wear oversized sweatshirts and tees in muted tones and converses.

SALE PICKS – THE BURGUNDY WOOL TRENCH COAT FROM TOPMAN

This Burgundy Wool Trench Coat from the Topman sale is a brilliant bargain and If I could, I would snap it up ASAP!

I happen to have the Khaki version which you may have seen me post and tweet about on numerous occasions. Aside from the beautiful colour, it’s well made, warm, fit’s perfectly, and looks much more expensive than the £45 sale price tag. The buttons tend to be quite loose, so you may want to restitch them or better yet, as I am planning to do, re-buttoned the whole coat with metallic gold ones!

Hurry as there’s only one Small left!

Available for £90 £45 online from Topman

FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY, STING LIKE A BEE – I FINALLY WEAR THE TOPMAN BUTTERFLY PRINT SWEATSHIRT

After months and months of waiting, I finally caved and wore my faboosh Butterfly Print Sweatshirt from Topman, but not how I thought I would.

Originally planning to wear it this in spring with light colour jeans/chinos, plimsolls, boots or brogues (as seen in this post), I opted for a slightly dark and festive twist with a khaki wool trench, burgundy chinos and the edgy Versace For H&M Leather Hi-Top Sneakers which added a much needed “sting” to such a “soft” and airy print, that even Mariah herself would be proud of.

Check out each individual item here.

THE TOPMAN DENIM SLEEVELESS JACKET – MY BARGAIN FLASH SALE PURCHASE!

Winter may have hit the UK (with torrential rain and gale force winds), but I, ladies and gentleman, am off to bake in 32 degrees of Indian sunshine for the week. So even though I may die from heatstroke while wearing this Denim Sleeveless Jacket from Topman in the heat, at least I’ll look HOT doing so, especially when riding on the back of my cousin’s motorcycle! (Yes that’s how we get around there!).

As above, I’m potentially looking at pairing this gem with my All Saints Archive Wintermoon Tee and grid print yellow Trucker cap. And in case you were wondering, this bargain beauty was a steal at only £40 £12!!!! Courtesy of the Topman Flash Sale.

#TODAYIMWEARING 13/10/2012 MUTED JEWEL MEETS FARROW & BALL

I adore this colour combination!

A muted palette of Jewel colours can instantly soften a loud “exotic” coloured looking outfit into something more subdued, wearable, and heritage in tone. As the title suggests, inspiration derived from the paint colours courtesy of Farrow & Ball provided a great way to balance the berry coloured chinos.

Light Tan sweatshirt – H&M
Berry Skinny Chinos – Topman
Aztec print socks – Topman
Elm suede Brogue Boots – All Saints

PHOTOGRAPHY: BRAD PITT BY STEVEN KLEIN, INTERVIEW MAGAZINE, OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2012

It’s funny that even though Brad Pitt is 2 years shy of 50 and favours the “hobo-chic” look (that’s me putting it nicely),  he still manages to retain his *swoon* factor.

His latest editorial for Interview magazine, sees the actor as a role-playing chameleon, and whether that’s him looking like your drunk, “holding onto his youth” uncle, sporting dreadlocks and unkempt facial hair or slicked, groomed and wearing eyeliner, the man still manages to put the “young’uns” of today to shame!

Check out the actor don a variety of apparel including Versace, Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, A Child of the Jago, Topman and Lanvin in his Steven Klein lensed editorial here.

FLORA INSPIRATION FOR AUTUMN/WINTER 2012/13

I always find it slightly unfair how womenswear trends are never really translated into menswear. Take the dramatic reinterpretation of floral prints this autumn/winter. Bright and colourful yet sombre in mood…Oh how I would love a needlepoint Dolce & Gabanna men’s jumper!

Now although this trend may not to every red blooded males liking, how about taking two or three colours from floral themed sources of inspiration, such as the marigold photograph I took this morning, and incorporate that into your everyday styling? Even pairing the smallest of floral accessories with winter darks will for a more “optimistic” end to the year. Here’s a little something I would wear.
