YOHJI YAMAMOTO MEN’S SPRING/SUMMER 2013 – PARIS FASHION WEEK

“The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club.”
Check out the images from the Yohji Yamamoto Spring/Summer 2013 menswear catwalk at Paris Fashion Week with some of my key notes on colours and influences below.
As from the above quote, all I could think of when I saw this collection was a a underlying influence of “Fight Club” drama, rebellion, city boy and something verging on “Hobo Chic”…which I mean in a good way. Models sported bruises and cuts on their faces while dressed in garments from a colour palette of teal, navy, coral, orange, grey, cement, red, injections of white and sky blue stripes, while the primary focus, aside from the battered fighter styled models, was on the boxy tailored jackets coupled with beautifully billowing brightly coloured trousers and shorts that had an element of archaic martial arts wear about them as the models strode down the catwalk. Layering, long, lightweight and loose were the key elements here, quintessentially Yohji, but with a refreshing palette perfect for that summer adventure.
Thank you once again Yohji-San!
